I finished the year with a painting that hints at the direction I want to go in the new year. This painting is about atmosphere and the perception of things seen rather than the accurate rendition of them. I listened to David Hockney on Radio 4 a couple of days ago. He said draftsmanship is the skill but painting is the poetry. I'm reasonably confident about my skills regarding the former, but I sure need to work on my poetry! Oil on canvas 24cm x 60cm
